Professional Support for Grief Practitioners

A three-session package to help you support your grieving clients in a grief-literate, ethical, and sustainable way.

One month of professional support with Mira (three sessions).

These sessions are designed to give you the space to deepen your understanding around the grieving process & access ongoing guidance as you support your grieving clients in a professional capacity. Accessing mentorship as a practitioner allows for continuity, clarity, and lasting confidence in your professional practice.

As a widow, solo parent, and member of the "dead-dad" club - as well as an occupational therapist, grief guide, and entrepreneur in the grief-space - I intimately understand the unique challenges that can arise when balancing your personal grief with your role in a grief-support role.

One of the most challenging things about supporting clients through grief, is the mirrored grief it can bring up in you as the practitioner. Whether you yourself have experienced a significant & profound loss in your life or a more ambiguous flavour of grief - grief inevitably activates grief.

If you are craving a space to gain confidence around supporting grievers, build an ethical business, and process your own grief as you support others - I would be honoured to support you.

This offering is a space where your grief gets to be heard & seen - leading to true & lasting sustainability within your own professional practice.

These sessions also provide practical guidance and strategies you can apply directly, helping you support those you work with ethically and compassionately.

💛 These sessions are for you if…

  • You are a therapist, counselor, social worker, coach, mentor, healthcare provider, spiritual/religious leader, or non-clinical grief practitioner supporting grieving clients
  • You are craving guidance and support around learning practical & grief-literate strategies
  • You are building a business or practice as a grief support practitioner & desire ethical mentorship
  • You feel that at times the grief of your clients impacts you in a profound way & you know that a space for you to examine and feel held in your own grief would be deeply beneficial for you as a practitioner (and increase your capacity to continue this sacred work)

About Mira Simone
Founder of New Moon Mira

I’m a widow, solo mom, occupational therapist, writer, grief educator, and guide for grieving humans — and those who support them.

Before my partner Brian’s death in 2019, I worked for many years as an occupational therapist, primarily with individuals who had sustained brain injuries, lived with chronic pain or illness, or had developmental disabilities. When Brian died of cancer, everything changed. Suddenly, I felt like an alien — my sense of belonging evaporated, and nothing made sense. Those around me didn’t know what to do either, and I struggled to find a truly grief-literate therapist who could help me navigate the complexity of my loss.

I founded New Moon Mira in 2022 to create the grief space I was searching for when Brian died — the space I hear time & time again we all need.

Through New Moon Mira, I run a public instagram account (@newmoonmira), a private widows-only community (The I See You, Sister Community), a somatic grief program, provide 1:1 sessions for grievers, and run in-person retreats. I am also passionate about providing education on grief with the hope of shifting how society and professionals approach this sacred process.

I’ve been invited to guest lecture on grief at the University of Alberta’s Master’s of Occupational Therapy program and I’ve provided corporate education on grief literacy in the workplace.

I’d be honoured to support you in this work. Thank you so much for your interest.

You deserve to be held in your grief, as you hold others in theirs. â™Ąď¸Ž

The testimonials below come from beautiful humans who have worked with me in grief programs. Their words reflect the insight and understanding I always endeaver to bring to my work — I would love to support you with this same level of depth & care.

Mira's grief program has helped me so much. The insights, the love, & the understanding…it's been beautiful. It's been the best experience at the worst time. I can't thank you enough for how I feel now versus how I felt when I first joined. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Cindy

All I can says is, 'Wow'. Mira's program completely exceeded my expectations, in terms of how powerful it was. Finding someone who understands has changed so much for me. I’m so grateful I joined. I've learned so much from Mira.

Jenny

I honestly feel like my healing/integration journey has been 'supersonic' on speed dial, and in 'ultra-mode' because of Mira's program. It will literally stick with me for the rest of my life. If you are looking for a mentor who understands the grief experience, whether it’s a recent loss or a longer loss - Mira is for you.
